about

An old song I wrote back in 2016. The guitar riff in the intro was inspired by "Blackbird" by The Beates. Lyrics were written to an old friend that I've since lost touch with.

Recorded in various bed rooms across the world during quarantine.

This song hits home more and more these days when I think of the lost connections I've had in life.

Shout out to Matthew Menges for giving me some help with the melody of this one

lyrics

Have a drink with me old friend
And tell me how you’ve been doing
Cuz the years went by faster than days
And at this point, we don’t feel the same

And tell me when did this begin?
The arguing the anger, and the friction
Oh it doesn’t matter who was right
When we’re both traveling alone at night

You can say the word I’ll put the past aside
Start anew or say goodbye
Cuz I don’t know how to handle this
I’m so tired of trying to fix it

Well if it’s what you want to do
I can’t be stopping you oh no no no

You can say the word I’ll put the past aside
Start anew or say goodbye
But silence speaks more than words
Trust me you’ve been heard

Now watch the heroes on the screen
Yeah they fight, just like you and me
And we’ll be traveling down their footsteps
To a rode that leads to regret

You can say the word I’ll put the past aside
Start anew or say goodbye
But silence speaks more than words
