about

Well theres not much hidden in this song. Ghosts combined with Bike Song and Carpe Diem spell out the story of my 20s. I am forever grateful all those three music videos and for what this song in particular gave me.

Whenever the Foes close a show its with this song. I always see people out in the crowd sing it so thank you all for that. The response we get from new people at our shows is always incredibly positive with this song as well. I think its because we all carry around the people in our lives that we will always care about even if they are no longer in our lives. So shout outs to the ones I sing this song too.

Stitched Sound
The Foes of Fern are making a splash in 2020. With their new, long awaited and recently released album Carpe Diem which came out August 28, today the band unveils the first video from the release, “Ghosts (Girl In All My Songs)”. The elegantly crafted video will draw you in from every angle, with a sound as beautiful as the video itself. Signed to Telegraph Hill Records, the group are a non-stop fun and gritty outfit of eclectic musicians who hail from New Jersey. The track is filled with harmonious instrumentation and haunting, echoing vocals that help to bring the video to life.

lyrics

I know that every man in this room
They can remember seventeen
Oh lets walk into a daydream
Well there were classroom fantasies
And the girls that were our queens
Well I too was young
And I fell for love
The way most adolescents do
She wanted to see the country
So I filler her mind with scenes
Of mountaintops and city shops and everything in-between

So I made that girl hate me
I forgot her birthday
Showed up a day late
Sang her least favorite song
Because she wanted a family
And I needed the big screen
So I did the right thing
And told her to move on
But these days I’m thinking of
The girl in all my songs

I know that everyone has their ghosts
They follow us where we go
We watch them on our tv shows
And they’re singing on the radio
I met mine on a Monday
And I was hers by a Tuesday
But the weekend was something we never knew
Cuz she was walking her way
And I was walking my way
I don’t think this could have ever changed

So I made that girl hate me
I forgot her birthday
Showed up a day late
Sang her least favorite song
Because she wanted a family
And I needed the big screen
So I did the right thing
And told her to move on

Yeah that’s just what she did
She found a new man
Stuck with her old plans
And now their kids are growing up
Well I think I’d like to meet them
But I don’t know if I can
Build up my courage
And look her in the eyes
And see some other life
That could have been Mine
But these days I’m thinking of
The girl in all my songs
